amanda schmid

Born in Switzerland in 1969, Amanda Schmid emigrated with her family to New Zealand in 1974. She developed her passion for the arts early in life and was encouraged by her artistic parents to explore many different creative avenues including painting, drawing, sewing, woodcraft and pottery. After moving back to Switzerland in 1988 to work for a summer, Amanda was caught by the magic of the Swiss Alps and has been living in Zermatt ever since. The fantastic view of the Matterhorn and it’s ever-changing moods never cease to amaze and inspire her.

Amanda has completed the M-Art Diploma with Denise Eyer-Oggier and has participated in several workshops in Switzerland and New Zealand including inspiring days with Eckard Funck and Kelley Diener.
